Curious how no CMO's of Fortune 500 or hot Startup Companies made this list? Those are the folks with the most resources to do anything they want, try everything, etc. The folks moving sales needles and stock markets. But you omitted all of them. You don't even have anyone listed from any cutting edge social technology providers. Doesn't mean these folks here aren't smart. But strange omissions.
Mark, Wow! Thanks for putting together such a comprehensive and valuable list. This is an extraordinary effort on your part that will pay many dividends to the community. It is also a great honor to be named to 100 Marketers You Must Follow on Twitter. Thanks again, Cheryl Burgess @ckburgess
Who are these people? Some of the brightest minds in Marketing are left off. I have significant respect for Cheryl Burgess because she is whipsmart. And I like Gary V. because he has moxie. Some on this list I know but would never follow again on twitter. I did...and I stopped LOL. In the past I have been steered wrong from these lists. But since I am a 10 percenter industry insurgent that probably explains why I don't know these folks. But being open minded I am going to scout through your list and if I find just 1 person I align with and find worth following I will be grateful for your effort.
Thanks for the feedback Howie. I knew that since the list stopped at 100, that I would be missing some great marketers. Personally I always love finding new marketers I can connect with that I never knew about before. However you will find some new people to connect with after going through the list :-)
Mark, you rock!! Peeps like you make the Internet a better place. I know the work it can take to compile such an ambitious post - though I'm not normally a fan of people lists per se, what you've done here is taken time to personally recommend each and every person with your own experience and commentary. Most impressive! I'm certainly honored to be included. To add to the mix here, I'd like to give a little plug for a few of my fave fellow women online marketers: @lizstrauss @prsarahevans @annhandley @soniasimone @wiredprworks @coachdeb @denisewakeman Uh-oh, I can see I may need to put up a post with my own recommended list!! Lol! :)
Chief Marketing Officers on Twitter: interesting list created by Kent Huffman ... http://bit.ly/smm312
Hi, congrats for this very useful post. But maybe you just missed some names...I would add to the list also @GuyKawasaki, @tom_peters, @dmscott, @chr1sa, @timoreilly, @jeffjarvis,@chrisabraham, @ScottAllen, @mitchjoel, @jowyang, @louisgray, @peterkim,@dbreakenridge, @charleneli...
wow Mark... great, awesome job. To be honest I didn't know your blog, just to let you know you are on my bookmark now :)
You missed another one here http://twitter.com/#!/muzammalakram Nice list BTW... Continue your good work, Mark.
Wow! There are seriously some mad skills on this list. I'm pumped to have met a few of the top 10 personally. Awesome list Mark. Always good to know who to follow to always hear from the best. Kudos to you!
Thanks for including me! I see a lot of great names on the list, and many I don't know as well that I'll have to check out! :)
Good list but it would be nice to have a list divided by their areas of expertise. And of course you left us - @nabeelva and @appealculture :)
Great content but you missed me? Thanks Bob Garrett http://wwww.garrettconsultants.com
Mark, This is an awesome list of people to follow. Well, except me. Since I mostly rant. But seriously - thanks for including me. I really don't think I'm at the same level as these people, so I'm even more humbled.
Can I just say "dittos" to Alan's comment, except I don't rant (well, not that often)? Mark, I am so completely honored to be listed, and I must say the ultimate reward to having met you through engaging on Twitter. Twitter gets credit as the vehicle that has expanded industry contacts and enabled friendships, like yours. Thank you!
Thanks Alan. One of the reasons why I wanted to put you on this list is because you do tell it how it is and voice what others are thinking. Many people just say or go with whatever the majority is saying, but you are not afraid to voice your opinion...and I like that :-) Thanks for the comment.
A very impressive and interesting post. Being a twitter user myself, I am pleased to have located more 'tweeple' to add to my list. I enjoy networking with like-minded individuals who believe in the power of twitter. At the same time why not broadcast my own twitter name and get more followers: http://www.twitter.com/MpL09 Cheers
WOW, Mark. Totally honored to be on this list. But, you forgot to put yourself on here too. ;) Thank you very much for the recognition and support. Now to continue to live up to the expectations. :)

Thank you so much, Mark, for being courageous enough to publish this list. I know that there is always the fear that we'll leave someone off who just didn't come to mind while we're compiling. As Tia mentioned, 100 just isn't enough. Two people whose advice I trust who aren't on the list are @DonnaFontenot (who I still think of as Dazzlin Donna because she IS and it has never gone to her head!) and Ron Cripps of @AffiliateXFiles. The number of extremely talented, experienced Internet Marketing types keeps growing. I don't know how we'll stay on top of them all. What I do is put my favorites in my TwitterFeed so I don't miss their new posts.
