Hi Obaid, nice insightful post. Some of the social media campaigns I've run incorporate using FaceBook as a means to generate leads & conversions. Depending on the nature of the business, we have some clients that are very phone oriented (as in they get most of their leads through direct phone calls). When it comes to tracking these conversions it can become hard at times to determine the worth of your FaceBook fan page. We usually utilize something called REF code analytics ( http://www.9thsphere.com/refcode-analytics.html ) - it is another independent online analytics tool that allows for social media or FaceBook conversion tracking of visitors that make direct calls to your business. The best part of it is that REF code can be (well SHOULD be) linked to your Google Analytics account which will further allow you to view all details just like any other typical visitor (such as time spent on site, bounce rate, pages per visit, etc.). It's definitely something every company that gets a high number of calls, should install.

I really like all the changes to Facebook pages recently and of course, as a nerd, I always enjoy looking at the 'insights' page to get a feel for how users interact on my fan pages. I finally crossed the 1,500 likes threshold on one of my fan pages - a goal a set for myself about 8 months ago.
