Great article Obaidul, the most important point in my mind is making the URL's readable for users. If it is easy for users to read and trust, then Google will as well. My biggest pet peeve is when URLs with multiple words do not use a hyphen, howtooptimizeyourwebsiteurlsforsearchengines is much harder to read than how-to-optimize-your-website-urls-for-search-engines. I can say that it also makes an impact on SEO, I have tested this before with very similar Squidoo lenses and Google preferred the hyphenated one by a large margin.
Thanks for commenting, Ramona. The URL structure which irritates me most is the one that contains useless characters like %, &, e etc. If we keep webpage urls clean, both search engines and people will love them.
