class="size-full wp-image-4544 img-none alignnone" title="digg-v40-finding-friends" src="http://www.stayonsearch.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/digg-v40-finding-friends.png" alt="digg v40 finding friends New Digg v4.0, More Personalized Results for Digg Users" width="550" height="345" />

One of the great new features of Digg is not only the ability to connect to your other social profiles to find friends, but to easily find new people that have the same interests as you in the Digg community.

See what the people you follow are digging Not seeing much activity?

See the top stories as dugg by your friends!

Click Top News for the classic “global” view of Digg

Submit stories with just a couple clicks

What this Means for Marketers

So I’m sure you are wondering what this means for you marketers. I who make the assumption that gaming the Digg system will not be as easy as it once was. Now that Digg is becoming more personalize and relevant, driving traffic from Digg will have more to do with your network of friends than the number of Digg you can get. Just like any social network the more friends and followers you have, the better the chance you have of promoting your content. The new Digg sounds no different. Making friends, creating great content, and being social in the community will lead to more traffic.

Arkayne, an awesome new product that will help you optimize and promote your blogs content.

This new WP plugin is a total solution for optimizing each of your posts, displaying relevant related posts on your site, as well as recommends other posts who are within your social community.

Blog Post Management

Once you have installed the plugin, Arkayne will scan your site to give you a list of all of your blog posts, that you can then put through the SEO analyzer tool (keep reading to see how the SEO Analyzer works). You can also manage all of your posts by seeing what inner-links and cross-links there are for each post. You can also disable the plugin on a per post basis, to hide the links that Arkayne would normally show on that post.

Build Your Community Presence

Arkayne has built a community that allows you to find and recommend users and content that you would like to promote on your blog. Once you have “Recommended” someone, their content will start showing up under “StayOnSearch Recommends” at the bottom of your posts. Arkayne also has a proprietary algorithm that they use to deliver the most relevant “Recommended” links within your network to your blog readers. This will improve the user experience, because you are offering relevant external links to blogs that you manually approve.

Where the real power of this tool lies is growing your network so that your posts are being recommended on other industry blogs. For each person that recommends you, your posts will have the opportunity to now show up as “Recommended Links” on their blog. This can help to increase referral traffic and drive a potentially new readership to your blog.

Here is what a Arkayne badge looks like for promoting on your blog.

Arkayne SEO Analyzer allows you to easily check every article you write for SEO compliance before and after your publish.

Key Features:

Do it Yourself SEO

Integrates directly into your WordPress Admin Panel

Simple to use, doesn’t require technical expertise

number of tracking features to monitor the effectiveness of your blog links. You can see how many total hits and your click through rates you are receiving. You can also look within your Google Analytics account, under “Referring Sites” to see your typical GA data like time on site and bounce rate.

Other data you can gather includes:

Click Ins (traffic coming from other blogs)

Click Outs (traffic going out to other blogs)

Top Users (which users are bringing in or sending out traffic)

pricing options including a free solution that lets you try it out before you decide to go Pro. Once you install the plugin, you will immediately want to bump up to at least the Pro edition once you see all of the additional features that are available.

1. What made you start Inbundles?

I’ve worked in food and beverage my entire life. It’s a passion of mine. I started InBundles to help restaurants reach out to new customers while giving customers the chance to try restaurants at a lower price. Then, restaurants get the opportunity to convert new customers into regulars.

2. What differentiates yourself from places like Groupon and LivingSocial?

I really like what Groupon and LivingSocial do to promote lots of different local businesses, but interspersing highly volatile food and beverage operations with businesses like bootcamp fitness gyms, laser hair removal clinics, spas and the like doesn’t do the restaurants justice. These businesses need to monitor their image closely. InBundles offers deals at F&B operations only because they benefit more by being presented with like businesses — unless you’re the owner of the first Brazilian bikini wax steakhouse, in which case it makes more sense.

3. I noticed currently you cater to mainly restaurants in New York. Do you plan on opening Inbundles to other cities and businesses in the near future?

For now, InBundles is strictly in New York City, but we plan to launch in other cities. We also plan to branch out to other sectors of the food and beverage industry like bakeries, wine stores, cooking courses and more. These businesses and events go hand in hand with restaurant deals.

4. What is the process if someone wants to get started?

We keep the interaction as simple as possible on both the diner and merchant sides of things. To buy a bundle, users simply create an account, purchase and print their bundle, and use it at the participating merchant. It’s just like any other gift certificate. For the restaurant, we write the editorial and create and sell the corresponding gift certificate. If the restaurant is prepared for the influx of customers, all they have to do is expect a check in the mail.

5..What are some local marketing tips you have learned to help restaurants owners gain more customers?

I always tell restaurants to think outside of their neighborhood. While the neighborhood customer base is crucial, there’s potential to attract customers from elsewhere. Restaurant owners should make the effort to reach out and educate diners no matter where they live. Just last week, I took a 45 minute train out to Queens for Thai food. The smells alone made the trip worth it, but I’ll definitely go back for the food.

<a

Those include:

Have a billing and mailing address in Get your Company Certification

Individual Qualification

The individual qualification, although not as rigorous in terms of requirements still mandates that you pass the Advertising Fundamentals exam and one Advanced Level exam. Once they are qualified they will received a Google branded certification that can be added to their website or resume. This certification can help earn a position with an Internet Marketing company or in-house organization.

Find a Partner

One question I have been thinking about for a while now, “Is the Google Adwords Certification Program that Well Recognized to Earn More Business?”. To a client that has probably never heard of this program, do you think they are impressed by the program because it is a status given by Google? or do you feel that most people are just saying “Adwords Professional, what……???”

I would love to what others think about the program.

Pubsubhubbub is a service that whenever you add a new blog post, it pings a hub and that hub will then notify anyone that has subscribed to that feed instantly. This helps with getting content faster to your RSS reader. WordPress just announced that all of their 10.5 million blogs will have this “Push” capability.

Matt and Mike start talking about spam and how with new types of content (images, video, feeds, etc..) there is going to be new spam. Matt says that if the quality of the content is good 90% of the time and they only have to clean it up 10% of the time, they would be happy with that. He also said that Google will help webmasters with best practices of how to prevent spam. They are very mindful of all of the real-time spam that is out there and that is something they are working to improve. There are a lot of metrics that can help find spammers, including # of followers, links, originating source of the content, etc…

They then started talking about Google Buzz. Matt said that he likes Buzz for having rich media inline, as well as being able to Buzz more than 160 characters. Buzz is really good because of the sharing capabilities all within the enterprise.

Q: Is it better to call Search Marketing, Social Marketers or just Marketers?

A: Matt always thought of SEO as a part of marketing. He doesn’t believe that social it is going to replace SEO, but believes that search and social will be working together to drive traffic.

They start talking about all of the different social platforms out there and how we can get everyone on the same page. Matt talks about how usage and being able to export data will help dictate what people are going to use for the future of web services.

Watch the Full Video Here

<object
