Thanks for posting this very helpful list. I am hearing very good reviews about radian 6 but it seems to be very costly to me. Do we have a similar alternative to it with does all the things which it does?

There are really on free tools that can do exactly what Radian 6 can do. However if you use Trackur.com and Google Alerts, this should be everything you really need if you are just starting out with social monitoring. Until you start seeing a lot of chatter about your brand and product/services, you really don't need to invest in one of the professional monitoring tools.

Mark, Thanks for posting this - I know a few health care companies that could benefit from brand monitoring; however, you know how that goes. Anyway, I would never reccomend Google Alerts for monitoring as it does not catch everything. Radian6 is awesome.
