Many people have mixed opinion about the type of hosting being used and its effects on SEO. Many people also feel that free hosting is also okay. However, I agree with you and never want to take the risk by hosting on vulnerable sites.

Chris,Yes, I probably should have stated that some aspects like quality links and good content obvious reasons why your site may not be ranking well.I was trying to position the post from the side of troubleshooting and diagnosing why your site may be prohibited from reaching its full ranking potential.Thanks for the comments and sorry I didn't clarify.

I feel like the number one reason for low rankings would be lack of incoming links… any reason why this didn't make your list or was it too obvious to include it perhaps?
